Mark W. Voreis
Mark W. Voreis, 65, formerly of Culver, passed away suddenly on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
He was born in South Bend on March 28, 1956, to Loren G. and Bonnie L. Vanata Voreis. He and his two sisters grew up in Culver and were very active on Lake Maxinkuckee. Mark was active in 4-H and Young Republicans, growing up and graduated from Culver Community High School with the class of 1974. He would then go on to attend Ball State University.
Mark worked for RR Donnelley in Warsaw for 40 years. Ending his career as a supervisor, he very much enjoyed his job and employees.
He was a witty, respectable person who made many friends throughout the years. He truly cared about people and anonymously did things for people to find joy in, but never wanting recognition. While he couldn’t serve in the military, he proudly supported our troops and his fellow veterans, always thankful for their service.
Holidays were always special to Mark, and he made sure his family was always together. He was very well-known in Culver for his Christmas decorations. He was a NASCAR fan and attended numerous races.
Mark also enjoyed ancestry and, with his persistent personality, he was able to do a lot of family research that spanned over 25 years. He was a knowledgeable person, but if he didn’t know the answer to something asked, he would explore the topic, so you both were informed.
He is survived by his sisters: Luann M. Brewer, of Plymouth; and Lorna Leamon, of Plymouth; nieces: Heather Brewer, of Hanna; Shan Leamon, of Franklin, Wis.; and Shay Leamon, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and aunts: Joyce (Pat) Thomas and Betty Voreis.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents: Uncle Roger Voreis and Aunt Shirley Thayer-Watrous.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 12 to 4:30 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will follow at 4:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made through Teachers Credit Union in Plymouth for the scholarship being set up through Culver Community High School to help an “average grade student” attend a trade school, a topic that was very dear to Mark’s heart.
Condolences may be sent to the family through the website www.johnson-danielson.com.
