SOUTH BEND – A motorcycle crash on the Indiana Toll Road Saturday night, August 14, claimed the life of a female passenger.
According to Indiana State Police, the accident happened just after 8:30 p.m. when the motorcycle lost control near the Notre Dame exit.
The grey 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was driven by Terrence Foster, 45 of Columbus, Ohio, and apparently sustained a rear tire failure.
Foster and a female passenger were thrown from the motorcycle, which came to rest in the center median.
Foster was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening. The female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. Release of her name was being held pending notification of family members.
The eastbound and westbound passing lanes were blocked for crash investigation and removal of the motorcycle.
