Tressie Lou Otto
Tressie Lou Otto, 88, formerly of Etna Green, passed away at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Nappanee, to Emanuel and Rosa (Hochstetler) Burkholder. She lived most of her life in the Nappanee, area and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. On Nov. 1, 1962, Tressie married her first husband, John Edward Yoder, in Nappanee. He preceded her in death May 21, 1998. On June 24, 2000, Tressie married her second husband, Eli Otto. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters: Barbara Lou of Etna Green; and Martha Rose of Bourbon; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Ellen Mast of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husband, a son, Henry Jerome Yoder; a daughter Laura Fern Yoder, and two sisters, Dorothy Fern Yoder and Laura Mae Helmuth.
Friends and family may call after 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the Michael Miller residence (6496 N Byrer Rd, Etna Green). Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, also at the Michael Miller residence. Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place at Graber Cemetery. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
