James Fick
James Fick, 78, North Webster, passed away Aug. 7, 2021, at his home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to James and Beatrice (McHenry) Fick. He grew up at the Crow’s Nest on Lake Wawasee as the great-grandson of Nathaniel Crow. He was a US Air Force veteran having served in active duty from 1962 through 1965 at the height of the Cold War. He served the remaining time of his service as a Reserve until 1967.
He then went on to graduate from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. He retired as an engineer for Sea Nymph in 1980. He was a charter member of the Fort Wayne Ice Skating Club of which he was very involved from its inception. He was also a member, as well as a board member of the Cromwell United Methodist Church of which he was also very involved. He was a member of the North Webster American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Fick of North Webster; two sisters: Cheryll Fick of Arizona; and Sandra Ulery of Florida; one brother, Brian Fick of Indianapolis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony at noon Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Cromwell United Methodist Church. Visitation will be two hours prior from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will immediately follow at the Bethel Cemetery with Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cromwell United Methodist Church, or to the Fort Wayne Ice Skating Club. Eastlund Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
