UPDATE: One Transported By Helicopter After Crash North of Atwood

ATWOOD — Police have released more information on a crash that occurred north of Atwood on Sunday evening, Aug. 8.
According to information from a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office news release, the two people injured in the accident that happened along CR 800W were Timothy Prater, 21, Kokomo, and Evan Justice, 16, Warsaw.
Both had non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Prater was transported by Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne and Justice by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Prater had to be extricated from the wreckage.
According to the initial investigation, Prater was driving a 2000 International asphalt sealant truck southbound on CR 800W, south of CR 750N. The vehicle left the roadway and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle traveled across the roadway, left the east side of CR 800W and overturned.
Along with the sheriff’s office and Samaritan helicopter, other entities that responded were Lutheran EMS, Nappanee EMS, Atwood Fire Department, Etna Green Fire Department and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory.
