More Activities At Syracuse Public Library
News Release
SYRACUSE — The following activities will take place at the Syracuse Public Library Aug. 16-21:
Adult Book Club Meets
The adult book club will meet virtually and in person the week of Aug. 16 to discuss “Lover’s Knot” by Emilie Richards. Contact Becky Brower at (574) 457-3022 or by email at [email protected] to receive a Zoom invitation for the 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, discussion. Want to discuss the book in person? Stop by the downstairs meeting room at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, for the in-person discussion.
Copies of “Lover’s Knot” will be available at the library through the end of the month for those interested in reading it. Digital copies are also available through Hoopla.
The Workshop Preps For Open Mic
The Workshop, an adult writing group, will share pieces during its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. This is in preparation for the return of open mic night at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the library’s downstairs meeting room. It’s been more than a year break since the last open mic night, and the library is excited to welcome writers and listeners back for the evening. For those desiring to share their work, there is a five-minute time limit on readings. There has always been a good variety of original pieces at past events, from poems to short stories.
Pollinator Club Changes Date
The Pollinator Club’s August meeting will now occur at noon Thursday, Aug. 26. The group will practice identifying bees, wasps and flies during a visit to the WACF Between-the-Lakes Preserve.
Email Brower, [email protected], to be added to the group’s mailing list. This will allow for the notification of any cancelations or carpooling arrangements.
