Terry Wynn, 74, Rochester, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana.
He was born on May 26, 1947, in Rochester, the son of Eli and Barbara (Newell) Wynn. Terry served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained while serving with the Second Squadron 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam. On April 4, 1971, in Rochester, Indiana, he married Mary L. Bailey and she survives.
Terry started working for the City of Rochester in the Water Department before working thirty-nine years as Street Superintendent retiring in 2010. He also served almost forty years as a volunteer on the Rochester Fire Department and had driven for Alexander Distributing delivering Dean Milk.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagles Lodge, and American Legion. He had been an active bowler for many years, competing in state bowling tournaments. At home, he enjoyed mowing and maintaining his lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Wynn, sons, Randy (Erin) Wynn, Rochester, Tim Wynn, Rochester, twin brother, Jerry (Joellen) Wynn, Rochester, sisters, Patty Ann (Mike) Bingle, Rochester, Deb Vigar, Rochester, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Ron Bailey and Roger Vigar.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, Rochester, with Dr. Mark Spencer officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to service Monday. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
