Rosemary E. Cain
Rosemary E. Cain, 96, Nappanee, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, in Warsaw.
Rosemary was born July 25, 1925, in Nappanee, to George Dewey and Ruby (Smith) Martin. She was a 1943 graduate of Nappanee High School and was a lifelong Nappanee area resident. On June 4, 1945, she married Richard Donald Cain Sr. in Florida. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2005 after 60 years of marriage.
She was an active member in the Nappanee United Methodist Church for many years where she had worked in the church office, volunteered in the thrift shop and sang in the church choir until the age of 90. Rosemary is often remembered for her time teaching children bowling at Gold Crown Lanes and also for walking her Boston bulldog around town. She also attended her sister, Sue Hinton’s exercise class for many years. Most of all Rosemary is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Annetta Hill of Nappanee; and Lynn Cain of Geneva, Fla.; four grandchildren: Richard (Hayley) Cain III of Warsaw; Kristi Cain of Pekin; René (Brad) Saylor of Sylvania; and Christina Hill of Goshen; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Hinton of Nappanee.
Rosemary Cain was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Donald Jr; two grandchildren, Eliryn Cain and Jami Cain; brother, Jim Martin; and two sisters Marge Jenson and Pat Martin.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
