Richard Rodgers, 73, Syracuse, passed away on Aug. 3, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 9, 1948, in Fort Wayne, to Charles “Bud” and Dorothy (Hapner) Rodgers.
He was a US Army Veteran. He worked for Dana for 18 years, and was self employed for many years before retiring. On May 15, 1982, he married Melodie Poinsett who survives. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his wife Melodie Rodgers of Syracuse, he is survived by his daughter, Alerie (Joseph) Gingerich of Middlebury; son, Troy (Madonia) Rodgers of Millersburg; four grandchildren, Cody, Gracie, Annabelle, and Daxon; one sister, Marsha Zickafoose.
He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Buddy. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at the North Webster American Legion Post #253 at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11.
