Richard Clinton Alderfer
Richard Clinton Alderfer, 71, Rochester, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
On March 5, 1950, Richard was born in Rochester to Frederick and Elizabeth G. Davidson Alderfer. He was a life time resident of Fulton County. Growing up he shared his childhood with two brothers.
Answering the call of patriotism, Richard served in Viet Nam with the US Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1970.
For 42 years, Richard drove a semi to deliver goods across the U.S. To relax he enjoyed fishing in the local areas and riding his Harley. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343.
Left to cherish the memories of Richard are four daughters: Sabrena Simpson and husband Norman and Seanita Siple and husband Jaymin, Lisa Franklin, all of Rochester; and Jeri McKinney and husband Bryan of Hastings, Fla.; 11 grandchildren: Brooke, Damion, Grady, Jacob, Abby, Katie, Selby, Riley, Parker, Baylee, Easton; two brothers: Charles Alderfer and wife Sharon and their sons Christopher and Timothy of Rochester, and Stephen Alderfer of Plymouth.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents.
A celebration of the life of Richard Alderfer will be at 1 p.m. Monday Aug. 2, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Marine Corps Honor Team.
Memorials may be made to the DAV Vehicle Fund
Interment will be in the Richland Center IOOF Cemetery.
