Albert ‘Earl’ Lightfoot
Albert “Earl” Lightfoot passed away at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
He was born April 7, 1928, in Gary, to Albert and Edna (Johnson) Lightfoot. On Feb. 10, 1950, Earl married Harriet Johnson in Gary, IN. She preceded him in death after 66 years of marriage Dec. 17, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Donald Lightfoot.
Earl is survived by three childre: Linda (Herbert) King of Flemington, N.J., Charles (Cinda) Lightfoot of Nappanee; and David (Claudia) Lightfoot of Warsaw; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Earl was a graduate of Portage High School in Portage and Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, W. Va. He served as a minister throughout his life in West Virginia, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana and was a member of the Independent Fundamental Churches of America.
He served in the Marine Corps in WWII. By God’s grace he attempted to be a faithful husband, father, grandfather and pastor.
Friends and family may call at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, from 3-6 p.m., Friday, July 30. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6pm with Pastor Nathan Bate of First Baptist Church, Bremen, officiating. Burial will take place at South Union Cemetery in Nappanee.
Memorial contributions can be made in Albert’s name to Appalachian Bible College.
