Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 12:49 p.m. Monday, July 26, South County Farm Road south of Hoppus Road, Warsaw. Driver: Maria D. Tochimani De Hilario, 36, North Michigan Street, Plymouth. Tochimani De Hilario was traveling northbound on South County Farm Road, Warsaw. She said an oncoming vehicle swerved into her lane. She said she was able to swerve and avoid a collision with the other vehicle, but her vehicle went partially off the roadway. She corrected her vehicle, but lost control. Her vehicle rolled over and came to rest off the roadway on its driver’s side. Emergency responders helped extricate Tochimani De Hilario and her passenger, Karla Sanchez Tochimani, 19, North Michigan Street, Plymouth. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. Tochimani De Hilario didn’t have a valid driver’s license at the time of the accident. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 9 a.m. Monday, July 26, South Packerton Road south of East CR 900S, Warsaw. Driver: Isaac T. Harp, 37, East Prestwick Road, Winona Lake. Harp was traveling southbound on South Packerton Road, Warsaw, when his vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, North CR 400E north of East CR 750N, Leesburg. Driver: Joseph C. Hackleman, 17, North Brown Street, Syracuse. Hackleman was traveling westbound on CR 800N, Leesburg. He missed the left hand curve onto CR 400E, and his vehicle left the road and hit a mailbox and caused yard damage. Damage: Up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 11:25 p.m. Monday, July 26, SR 15 south of Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Driver: Michael Heath, 24, Church Hill Downs Drive, Warsaw. Heath was traveling southbound on SR 15 south of Jalynn Street, Warsaw, when a deer collided with his vehicle. Damage: Up to $10,000.
