WARSAW — Warsaw Community Public Library will host the following events in August.
Bedtime stories continue on Facebook at 7 p.m. each Thursday in August. Guest readers share stories to help children prepare for bedtime.
The ‘Let’s Talk Writing’ event at 2 p.m. Aug. 4 features local author Ashley Miller. Participants will learn writing skills, editing techniques, and publication and marketing tips. This extensive writing course will take place monthly over the course of a year. Please register.
Stop by the library at 1 p.m. Aug. 11 to attend one last movie day before school starts. Vote on the event calendar at warsawlibrary.org to pick the movie shown. The winner will be announced on Aug. 9. Bring a blanket to sit on the floor or use the chairs provided. Free popcorn will be available or you can bring your own drink and snacks.
The Friends of the Library Story Emporium Bookstore will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 14 and 28. Follow the Friends of the Warsaw Community Public Library Facebook page for featured sales.
Kids are invited to play Minecraft Education Edition from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 17. Play on a library device or bring your own. This event is for ages 6 through 12. Please register in advance to guarantee a spot.
Paint a vase of flowers with Carl Mosher at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17. The class fee of $25 covers all supplies and instruction to complete an 11×14 canvas. Payment is due at advance registration by cash or check.
Blooming Art is a time for children to get creative crafting items for the garden. The how-to video will feature rock painting at 5 p.m. Aug. 18. The virtual event will be held on WCPL’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Learn the many health benefits of drinking fruit-infused water at 3 p.m. Aug. 26. Find out how to mix different fruit combinations to feel energized, relaxed or even aid in digestion. Sample different waters to find your favorite. This event is free, but seats are limited. Please register in advance.
Teens can play Minecraft Education Edition at the library from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Use library computers or play on the PlayStation or Xbox. This event is for ages 13 through 17.
