COVID Update: More Than 25K In County Fully Vaccinated

WARSAW — More than 25,500 people in Kosciusko County have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. An estimated 24,820 people in Kosciusko County have been administered their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
More than 2,908,000 Hoosiers are considered to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. According to statewide demographics, about 56% of those fully vaccinated are individuals who are 50 and older. About 53% of people fully vaccinated are female.
On the Indiana Department of Health’s two-metric and advisory level COVID-19 maps, Whitley County is back in the “yellow” category.
According to the IDH dashboard, the county’s positivity rate is 5.1%.
Fulton County is now in the “blue” category on IDH’s two-metric map, with a 3.9% positivity rate. If the county stays on this path for another week, Fulton can follow “blue” guidelines. However, the county must continue following “yellow” guidelines for one more week.
On the state’s map, Fulton County is flagged “due to a large number of weekly cases being attributable to congregate settings.”
Wabash County is also now in the “blue” category on IDH’s two-metric map, with an 1.8% positivity rate. If the county stays on this path for another week, Wabash can follow “blue” guidelines. However, the county must continue following “yellow” guidelines for one more week.
IDH relies on a color-coded county map that measures percent positivity and new cases per 100,000 residents. The baseline for red is 15%.
Statewide, the IDH website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 13,536.
The total positive number of reported COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 762,837. More than 11,078,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Kosciusko County has reported 9,724 positive cases and 123 COVID-19 deaths.
Locally, Fulton County has 2,073 positive cases, Wabash County has 3,667 positive cases, and Whitley County has 4,134 positive cases. Marshall County has 6,317 positive cases, Noble County has 5,937 positive cases, and Elkhart County has 29,663.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 56,742 positive cases; Allen County has 42,562 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 37,214 positive cases.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 609,000 people in the United States have died due to COVID-19.
