Grindle Leaves TVHS For Coaching Job In Plymouth

MENTONE — Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. is looking for a replacement for Tippecanoe Valley High School Assistant Principal Joel Grindle.
At its regular meeting on Monday, July 19, at Mentone Elementary School, the TVSC Board accepted Grindle’s resignation. TVSC Superintendent Blaine Conley confirmed to InkFreeNews that Grindle has taken the head boys basketball coach position at Plymouth High School.
Grindle is a PHS alumnus. Conley said the corporation is working to find Grindle’s replacement.
In other business, the board:
- Heard from Conley that the planned renovation for TVHS can progress as the public comment period has passed. Conley said plans are now for bids to go out early next year with construction to start in spring or summer 2022.
- Hired TVHS physical education and strength and conditioning coach Nicholas Price, agriculture teacher Hope Slagle. science teacher Tricia Sederholm and choir teacher Thomas Boys, Tippecanoe Valley Middle School nurse Ashley Derf, seventh-grade math teacher Alexander Gudeman and sixth-grade teacher Marc Green, Mentone speech-language pathologist Cate Smith and Akron Elementary School fifth grade teacher Courtney Dunham.
- Approved Bree Baldini as TVHS JV volleyball coach and Emily Murphy and Hannah Durkes as TVHS assistant volleyball coaches.
- Accepted the resignations of Mentone cook Terra Kohler and instructional assistant Nickole Dennis.
The board’s next meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Mentone.
