WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees approved moving funds in the library’s budget for chiller replacement during a meeting on Monday, July 12.
Currently, the library is experiencing issues with its chiller going into low pressure and motor fault alarm. During the board meeting, WCPL Director Ann Zydek said the chiller is 23 years old and that staff are waiting to get a quote for the project.
The board voted to move $100,000 from the library’s operating fund to the rainy day fund for the replacement. WCPL has an unused and unencumbered balance in their operating fund for the transfer.
In other business, the board also approved changes to library card fees. Fees are decreasing by a few cents, with the annual individual fee now at $96 and annual family fee at $240. The part-year individual fee will now be $24.
Fees apply to those who do not reside in the library district but want a library card through WCPL.
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9.
