Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 12:21 a.m. Monday, July 5, North Dolan Drive, south of West Carroll Street, Syracuse. Drivers: unknown; and Jason C. Longmire, 44, East Shady Lane, Syracuse. Longmire was traveling on North Dolan Street in the southbound lane when his vehicle was hit by an unknown driver. The driver continued traveling north on Dolan Street. Longmire complained of pain and was taken in for medical review. A passenger, Brandon L. Huffer, 27, Syracuse, was treated for a minor head injury at the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, East Old Road 30, near South CR 250E, Warsaw. Driver: Michael A. Compton, 25, Husky Trail, Warsaw. Compton was traveling north on CR 250E when he realized he was in an intersection and attempted to brake but was unable to avoid a collision. He said he remembered hitting a fence but nothing else. Officers’ observations indicate that Compton’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting several traffic signs and a utility post. His vehicle also hit a boulder and landscaping at 2526 E. Old Road 30 before hitting a fence in the area. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
- 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, East US 30, near East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Kyra J. McDonald, 19, Adams Road, South Bend; and Robert C. Riewoldt, 63, North CR 150W, Warsaw. McDonald was traveling in the westbound lane of travel on East US 30 when she rear-ended Riewoldt’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
