James A. Beck
James A. Beck, Ossian, formerly of Goshen died 10:20 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021, in Warsaw. He was born Oct. 13, 1960, in South Bend, to John “Jack” Charles Beck and Mary Jo (Hostetler) Beck.
Surviving are his children: Cameron (Jamie) Beck, New Haven; Cassondra Beck, England; and Chelsea (Ivan Ramos) Beck, Warsaw; grandchildren: Liam, Landon, Venessa, Keira, Garrett, and Collin.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
James served in U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, he became a firefighter/EMT for Kendallville, Topeka and Ligonier. James was owner/operator of ASAP Fire Protection and Can-Do Pressure Cleaning both in Topeka. He was a 1979 graduate of Goshen High School. James was a Fire Investigator, 911 dispatcher, LA County Sheriff Chaplin, and a published author “South West Pacific Motor Torpedo Boats”. He enjoyed making wooden flags, collecting fire and navy memorabilia, he also enjoyed cooking, and gardening. He was a huge fire history and Navy buff. He loved spending time with family, grandchildren, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Funeral Home 311 S. Main St. Goshen, IN 46526. A celebration of life will follow at 6pm.
