WARSAW – A driver whose car struck a house Monday night, July 5, died apparently after he suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.
The accident happened in the 3500 block of North CR 400E in Plain Township around 7 p.m., according to a news statement released by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
James Gall, 91, of Leesburg, was driving a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood north on CR 400E when the car left the west side of the road, struck a fence and came to rest against the south side of an unoccupied home.
Gall was transported to a Warsaw hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello, Gall suffered a medical event immediately prior to the collision.
The accident caused structural damage to the house.
Other emergency responders at the scene included North Webster Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
