Alan Jay Gottschalk
Alan Jay Gottschalk, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at 9:17 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at his residence in Warsaw at the age of 57.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1964, in South Bend. He was one of three children born to Darlene Aun (Davis) Gottschalk and Jacob Allen Gottschalk.
Alan graduated from Riley High School in South Bend in 1982. He had been a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 20 years where he had worked in food services his entire lifetime. He had a love and talent for cooking and enjoyed entertaining friends and family.
Alan dearly loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the time spent with them on many occasions and celebrations. He also had a soft spot for animals and over the years he cared for many that had come across his path. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to man … he will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother: Darlene Aun Gottschalk, Winona Lake; sister Lorrie (Steve) Makofka, Dayton, Ohio; brother Jeff (Heather) Gottschalk, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Gottschalk, in 1992.
Alan’s family will mourn his passing privately, and all prayers are welcome. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
