Gary Arnold Allen, 79, Wabash, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 5:25 a.m., Monday, June 28, 2021, in his home.
Gary was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Spokane, Wash., the son of the late Oscar and Viola (Tarbert) Allen.
He is survived by three children: April (Michael) Kyle of Middlebury; Robin (Bob) Umbaugh of Walkerton; and Tricia (Greg) Gohring of Wabash; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by two siblings: Jim (Delores) Allen of Florida; and Danny Allen of Michigan City. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson and nine siblings.
Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was the owner/operator of Pla-Mor Campground in Bremen. Gary retired to Arizona and he enjoyed fishing, square dancing, panning for gold and going to the casino.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 1, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 2, in the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with full military honors.
