Nate Wilkinson, a resident of Warsaw for more than twenty years, passed away quietly and unexpectedly on Monday, June 21, 2021. He was 41 years old.
Nate was born in Rockford, Ill. May 26, 1980, to parents Lou and Roxanne – both of whom survive. He spent his formative years in Rockford and in Jasper County before making Warsaw his home.
Everywhere Nate went he made friends. He loved being around people and rarely knew a stranger. He liked to laugh and dance and especially liked bowling. He also loved Dr. Pepper soda, wrist watches, Purdue Pete, Notre Dame, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, calendars and slapstick humor. Mostly he loved, and was loved by other people.
For many years, Nate participated in Special Olympics where he loved socializing with friends and the other athletes. He was also a hard worker who rarely missed a day of work at CCI Manufacturing where he worked in assembly. Often, Nate had an ongoing competition with his co-workers to see who could complete the most parts or pieces – his favorite part to work with was multipiece bottle caps.
His passing leaves holes in the hearts of many friends and family members. A list of those closest to him includes his parents, Roxanne and Lou; brother, Kyle (Torrie); sister, Joyce (Grant); two nephews; one niece; grandfather, Papaw Don and grandmother, Sarah. He is also survived by a large extended family including many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in passing by grandfather, Lloyd and grandmother, Mary Jane.
Friends may gather with the family at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw for a time of visitation from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 28. A service which celebrates Nate’s life will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Carl Adams of Cowboy Church in the Meadows officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to show their sympathy are encouraged to volunteer time with Cardinal Services or Special Olympics. Memorial donations would also be accepted for either organization with envelopes available at the funeral home.
