IHSAA Baseball State Finals Scoreboard
Final scores from the four IHSAA Baseball State Championship contests, played Monday and Tuesday at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
Class 1-A Final
Washington Township 6, Shakamak 0
The win for the Township (27-7) is the first state title in any sport for the school. James Kirk and Logan Curran each had a hit and two driven in for Washington Township while Steve Hernandez fired a one-hitter, walking one and striking out four in the complete game gem.
Class 2-A Final
Providence 4, Eastside 0
Providence (23-7) earns its second state title in five years, fueled by a two-hit shutout from Ray Reisinger, the hurler striking out 11 and walking none. Casey Kaelin knocked in two for the victors. Owen Willard struck out eight in the complete game loss for Eastside, the Northeast Corner Conference dwellers making its first-ever appearance in the state finals.
Class 3-A Final
Southridge 2, Hanover Central 0
Moving up to 3-A, Southridge (26-7) wins its first-ever baseball championship after losing in the 2-A championship in each of the last two seasons. Ethan Bell threw a two-hitter for the champs and drove in the only two runs of the game at the plate.
Class 4-A Final
Jasper 3, Fishers 1
Jasper (31-2) added another state title to its baseball trophy case, its sixth crown all-time, but the first in the past 15 years. Ross Peter had two doubles and two runs driven in for Jasper, and Grant Stratton allowed just three hits and struck out seven.
