LouAnn Whetstone, 75, rural Akron, passed at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at her residence.
LouAnn was born July 26, 1945, in Rochester, Fulton County, to the late Robert L. and Esther (Miller) Nicodemus. She married on Aug. 30, 1972, in Jellico, Tenn. to Marvin E. Whetstone, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1999.
LouAnn was a USDA Meat Inspector for five years as well as a homemaker for her family. She also enjoyed working at the Akron Flea Market for many years. She was very crafty. She always looked forward to operate her booth at the Roann Covered Bridge Festival selling her arts and crafts. LouAnn had many special cats that she cared for and loved.
Surviving are her children: Steve Whetstone of Akron; Jeannie C. Grimm of Rochester; Charlie Whetstone of Akron; Kimmi and husband Kelly Timmons of Warsaw; and Bob and wife Jackie Whetstone of Akron; 11 grandchildren; and several great -grandchildren
LouAnn was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, a sister Carol Myers, and a grandson.
Following her wishes no visitation or service will be held at this time. An afternoon memorial celebration will take at her home on July 25. Her final resting place will be in the Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe, alongside her husband.
