Willie Lacy Varney
Willie Lacy Varney, 70, Rochester, passed at 4:47 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, at his residence.
Willie was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Oppy, Ky. to the late Rush and Serina (Hensley) Varney. He married Aug. 12, 1989, in Warsaw, to Cinda Sue Summerlot, she survives
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Uniroyal Inc. of Warsaw for many years as well as being a coal truck driver and an over the road trucker. Willie dedicated himself to the Lord and was baptized in the Eel River in 1995.
Bill enjoyed music and entertaining people. He played many instruments, which included the guitar and the banjo. He and his wife Sue spent many miles on his Honda Gold Wing. He took his motorcycle to many Gold Wing events and even won an award for his beautiful bike. In more recent years he enjoyed four wheeling, especially in the mountains of West Virginia. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Sue Varney of Rochester; children Cindy Marie, Jason, Christy, and Barb; several grandchildren; a sister Katherine Furget; and many nieces and nephews
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and four sisters.
Following his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
