Dorothy Marie ‘Dot’ Tucker — UPDATED
Dorothy Marie “Dot” Tucker, 88, Milford, passed away at 1:19 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at Goshen Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Milford, to Raymond Roscoe and Adelia Tena Krull Pinkerton.
She was a lifetime Milford resident, graduated in 1950 from Milford High School and was a graduate of Elkhart Business College. She was married on Aug. 26, 1951, at Milford Christian Church to William “Leon” Tucker, who survives. She was a devoted wife who was thoroughly committed to her wedding vows for 69 years. Her role was a homemaker and mother of five on the family farm. She formerly worked at Weather Head Corp. in Syracuse and Burger Dairy in New Paris.
She was a 70-plus-years member of the Milford Christian Church, where she served faithfully. She was a 4-H member and mentored her children through their many projects. She had an adventurous independent spirit that led to many interests and hobbies that included cooking, sewing, painting, card making, crafts, gardening, traveling and entertaining. She used these talents and her sense of humor to bless, encourage and empower those around her that often was only noticed and appreciated years later.

She is survived by husband, Leon Tucker, of Milford; children, Craig (Judy) Tucker, of Stockton, Iowa; Brian (Kim) Tucker, of Syracuse; Steve (Valerie) Tucker, of Milford; Laura (Mark) Weller, of Silver Lake; and Lydia (Scott) Lubbers, of Holland, Mich. They were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family graveside services will take place in the Milford Cemetery.
The family of Dorothy “Dot” Tucker invite family and friends to a casual celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26. Guests are asked to join them at the CAC building located at the northwest corner of the Milford Christian Church parking lot, 201 N. Henry St., Milford.
