Triton Among HNAC Spring Honors

BOURBON – Triton’s 2021 spring season saw several athletes earn accolades within the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
Boys Track
Champions at the HNAC meet in mid-May earned automatic All-Conference status. Triton’s lone champion was Trace Schuh, who won discus.
Girls Track
Same deal as the boys, any champion earned All-Conference status. Triton had two champions, Makenna May in the 300 hurdles and Addyson Viers in both the shot and discus.
Boys Golf
Triton won the team championship at the tournament played at Chesapeake Run Golf Club. Cole McKinney was the individual medalist and earned HNAC MVP status. Joining McKinney on the All-HNAC list were Bruce Johnson, Breylon Wareham and John Gardner, and Gavin Butler added Honorable Mention status.
Girls Tennis
The Triton one doubles team of Lexia Hostrawser and Emma Hepler won their bracket and earned All-HNAC honors for their work.
Baseball
There was a four-way tie for champion in the conference between LaVille, North Judson, Pioneer and Winamac at 10-4. Triton finished well back at 2-12, and Jeremiah Farrell was the lone honoree as All-HNAC. Caston’s Joey Spin was named the HNAC Player of the Year.
Softball
Triton finished at the bottom of the ledger in the conference, taking an 0-7 round robin record in 2021. Triton did not have a player on the First Team, but did have Madeline Doll and Lauren Snyder named Honorable Mention. The state champion Pioneer went 7-0 in the conference, with Hailey Gotshall named MVP.
