Garr Sisters, Wienert Among ICGSA Softball All-State

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana High School Coaches of Girls Sports Association (ICGSA) honored softball with the announcement of its All-State award winners.
The association honored the state in halves, with Class 3-A and 4-A in one grouping, and Class 1-A and 2-A in the other.
Listed below are players from the area, included in both classifications. The awards are done in First Team, Second Team and Third Team. No Honorable Mentions were given, per the association.
For Class 3/4A, Lakeland’s Keirstin Roose and Columbia City’s Brooke Lickey were First Team All-State. Northridge’s Madison Wienert and Penn’s Addy Kois were Second Team All-State, and Third Team All-State went to Goshen’s Olivia Koshmider, Penn’s Maddie Calvin and East Noble’s Carly Turner.
For Class 1/2A, Whitko’s Gus Garr was named First Team All-State, along with Pioneer’s Hailey Gotshall and Hailey Cripe, Winamac’s Ella Gearhart, Westview’s Alexys Antal, Northfield’s Addy Baker, LaVille’s Allison Medors and Churubusco’s Mariah Hosted. Second Team All-State went to Pioneer’s Mackenzie Walker, Winamac’s Aubrey Gearhart, Whitko’s Guinny Garr and Westview’s Bri Caldwell. Third Team All-State had Winamac’s Alexis Sheets, Fairfield’s Brooke Sanchez, North Miami’s Lauren Duncan and Northfield’s Kyra Kennedy.
