New Name Sought For Stock+Field Stores
Staff Report
WARSAW – New owners of the Stock+Field stores in Warsaw and 21 other cities are looking for a new name.
The Warsaw store along US 30E was one of several set to close within days in March when a new ownership group – the R.P. Acquisition Corporation – swooped in and acquired the company.
After briefly closing, they have since re-opened, restocked and hired new managers.
On Friday, June 4, the company announced plans to change its name and is seeking input.
The company wants to hear from the public and is taking suggestions for a “timeless” new store name. Ideas can be offered at www.StockAndField.com/ItsYourStore through June 18.
Officials hope to announce the new name in the first week of July.
The R.P. Acquisition Corporation purchased the Stock+Field assets out of bankruptcy court in April of 2021 and is currently in the process of reopening 22 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
“We will continue to offer the brands that farm families and outdoor recreational enthusiasts find essential,” said Jason Plummer, VP of the R.P. Acquisition Corporation. “We also want to involve our customers in the process of defining our new identity. Their voices are important, and we want them to know we are listening,” Plummer continued.
Based in Edwardsville, Ill., R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. is a family-owned retailer that operates 72 full-service hardware and building material stores throughout Illinois, Missouri, Wyoming and Iowa.
Currently open in Watseka and Morris, Ill., and Crawfordsville, Warsaw and Michigan City, Ind., Stock+Field is still hiring at most of its 22 locations, which should all be open by early July.
