Roy Thomas “Tom” Hoagland, 70, of rural Claypool, died 9:59 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Wabash, to Orvall E. and Bonnie Pauline (Walker) Hoagland.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of Manchester High School. He married Jennifer Hoffman at the First Brethren Church in Roann on February 16, 1974. He was a welder with Peabody Manufacturing and also Wabash Valley Manufacturing. Tom was a member of the Victory Rock Church. He enjoyed raising Basset Hounds, showing horses and eating.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hoagland, Claypool; son, Thomas Hoagland, Columbia City;sister, Nancy Louise Joiner, Lafayette, Ky; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Victory Rock Church, 6170 South CR 500 E. Warsaw, with Pastor Charles Trout officiating. Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorial is the family to help with expenses.
