LACROSSE – Oregon-Davis put an end to Triton’s baseball season Saturday in a 12-1, five-inning final at the Class 1-A semi-final at the LaCrosse sectional.
It was a sloppy pitching performance on both sides, as the two teams combined to walk 23 batters, 11 of those by Bobcat pitching. Triton, however, managed just one hit and couldn’t generate anything going downhill as Oregon-Davis scored the game’s first eight runs before hanging four runs in the fifth to set up the dime.
Braden Swanson gave up just one hit in three innings to get the win for O-D while Jeremiah Farrell took the loss for the Trojans (4-18), allowing just two hits and two earned runs, but issued 10 walks and eight total runs in 3.2 innings of work.
In the day’s other semi-final at LaCrosse, the hosts were stung by South Central 6-5, the Satellites pushing across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
South Central and Oregon-Davis will battle for the LaCrosse title Monday afternoon.
