Forrest Dwight Hershberger
Forrest Dwight Hershberger, 85, Goshen, died at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Millersburg, to Joseph Henry & Charlotte M. (Detwiler) Hershberger. On Aug. 31, 1957, he married Esther Marie (Lambright) Hershberger.
Surviving are his wife: Esther, Goshen; daughter: Phyllis Hershberger, Goshen; sons: Kevin (Marsha) Hershberger, Goshen; Chad Hershberger, Goshen; Quentin Hershberger, Elkhart; and Joseph Hershberger, Nappanee; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Frank (Karen) Hershberger, Goshen; Marian (Joan) Hershberger, El Dorado, Ark.; and David (Barbara) Hershberger, Watertown, Wis.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son: Paul Hershberger; and sister: Rosemary LaRue.
He served in the National Guard from 1959 to 1965. He was owner and operator of Concord Excavating. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, where he sang with Harold’s Quartet.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, with a memorial service following at 11 a.m., all at First Baptist Church, 1011 S. Indiana Ave., Goshen. Pastor Jim Shrock and Pastor Gregg Lanzen will officiate. Burial will be at West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to First Baptist Church, Goshen.
