Delta Lee Greenawalt Hall
Delta Lee Greenawalt Hall passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at home in the care of her family.
She was born the daughter of Russell and Bertha Shoemaker on Aug. 12, 1930, in Warsaw. She has been a lifetime resident living in her home the past 73 years. On June 6, 1948, she married William Lewis Greenawalt, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1979.
Those who will miss her smile and compassion are her daughter and son-in-law: LeeAnn (Lloyd) Holderman, Syracuse; and her son: Kenneth Russell Greenawalt, Bourbon. She was further blessed with five grandchildren: Catina Fox, Fayetteville, Tenn.; Gregory (Dara) Greenawalt, Bourbon; Marc Greenawalt, Bremen; Dawn Marie (Dustin) Wilt and Farah Lee Crase, all of Elkhart; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her sister: Carol Jankowski, Crown Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Doris Holland, Maxine Duff, Linda DeCent, and Kay DeCent; and her brother: Bud Shoemaker.
She was a graduate of Warsaw High School class of 1948 and a member of Etna Green United Methodist Church. She always said she was a “farmer” and worked as a legal secretary. In her free times she enjoyed many fun activities, including water skiing at Lake of the Woods. She was a Thespian and loved dancing. She always wanted to be an actor or professional dancer. Many people thought she was actually a professional dancer.
Friends and family may gather from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 S. Main St. Bourbon, IN 46504). Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Joe Lampton and Kenneth Cooke officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In keeping with current COVID-19 regulations, masks are suggested as well as being mindful of social distancing.
