Numerous Local Memorial Day Events Scheduled This Weekend

WARSAW — Communities in Kosciusko County are preparing for Memorial Day celebrations.
A list of them is as follows:
Etna Green
A service will be held at noon Sunday, May 30, at East Cemetery.
Leesburg
Leesburg will have a Memorial Day parade and service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 31.
There will be a flag-raising ceremony by the Boy Scouts before the parade at the town hall.
The parade will proceed from town hall on Pearl Street then west on Prairie Street to Leesburg Cemetery. The memorial service will follow the parade.
All veterans wishing to ride in the parade should be at town hall by 10:15 a.m. All other participants should be in place by that time.
In case of rain, the memorial service will be held inside the Leesburg Lions Club Building at 10:30 a.m.

Mentone
A Memorial Day program will be at Mentone Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday.
A reception will follow at the Bell Aircraft Museum. All are welcome.
Milford
The lineup for the parade is at 9 a.m. Monday, with the parade starting at 10 a.m. A ceremony is afterward at Milford Cemetery.
New Paris
The annual New Paris Community Memorial Day parade and ceremony will take place Sunday. The parade starts at 2 p.m. from the old Burger Dairy Plant, traveling south on Division Street. The ceremony will begin at about 2:15 p.m., at the New Paris/Jackson Township Cemetery.
North Webster
A parade begins at 10:45 a.m. Monday, and remembrance ceremonies will be as follows:
• Thorn Cemetery, 9 a.m.
• Salem Cemetery, 9:30 a.m.
• Mock Cemetery, 10 a.m.
• Legion Post No. 253, 10:30 a.m.
• North Webster cemetery, 11 a.m.
• Flag raising at Post No. 253, noon.
Pierceton
Pierceton will host a parade at 10 a.m., Monday, It will start at the fire station and travel to Brower Park, where a ceremony will take place.
Silver Lake
A veterans ceremony is at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, sponsored by the Silver Lake Lions Club. Attendees are asked to practice social distancing.
Syracuse
Chautauqua-Wawasee and American Legion Post No. 223 will host a Memorial Day 2021 Tribute Taps Across the Water, Sunday, May 30. At 9:08 p.m. there will be a minute of silence, followed by Taps Across the Water at 9:09 p.m. Hear the tribute at Syracuse-Wawasee and Papakeechie lakes, Lakeside Park, from pier or boat.
The Syracuse American Legion is hosting a parade on Monday.
The lineup is at noon, and the parade starts at 1:30 p.m. After the parade, a ceremony will take place at Syracuse Cemetery.
Pat Park of Wawasee Baptist Church will be presiding over the ceremony. He is a retired Navy lieutenant. There will be free food at the American Legion after the ceremony.
Warsaw
Live music begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday and is provided by the Kosciusko County Extension Choir and Dan Beam.
The program begins at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
