Mary E. Igo Bowers
Mary E. Igo Bowers, 93, formerly Mentone and Edwardsburg, Mich., passed at 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Paddock Springs of Warsaw.
Mary was born on Jan. 3, 1928, to the late Edward and Clara (Ulrey) Baker. She married on April 9, 1949, in Mentone to Ned B. Igo, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1976. She then married John Bowers and he preceded her on Dec. 19, 2020.
She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Mary was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for their family businesses, which included, the Mentone Service Center and Igo Oil Company of Mentone. She always enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She can be fondly remembered with her apron on making great pies.
Mary is survived by her daughters Diana and husband Ken Mann of Warsaw and Mary Darlene Stiffler of Fort Wayne, stepson Kenneth and wife Karen Bowers of Niles, Mich.; grandchildren Kerry, Kory, Spencer, Casey, and Lane, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Ned, husband John, son Ned DeWayne Igo, brothers Clifford F. Baker and Guy Baker, sister Bernice Van Curen, and a son-in-law Michael Stiffler.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 29, in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Ernie Troxell of the Warsaw Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.
The arrangements are entrusted to King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s memory to the Four-Way Ambulance Services or to the Mentone Fire Department.
