Delta Lee Greenawalt Hall
Delta Lee Greenawalt Hall passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at home in the care of her family.
Delta was born the daughter of Russell and Bertha Shoemaker Aug. 12, 1930, at Warsaw. On June 6, 1948, she married William Lewis Greenawalt, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1979.
Those who will miss her smile and compassion are her daughter and son-in-law LeeAnn (Lloyd) Holderman of Syracuse; and her son Kenneth Russell Greenawalt of Bourbon. She was further blessed with five grandchildren: Catina Fox of Fayetteville, Tenn.; Gregory (Dara) Greenawalt of Bourbon; Marc Greenawalt of Bremen; Dawn Marie (Dustin) Wilt and Farah Lee Crase both of Elkhart; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and her sister Carol Jankowski of Crown Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Doris Holland, Maxine Duff, Linda DeCent, Kay DeCent and her brother, Bud Shoemaker.
Delta was a graduate of Warsaw High School class of 1948 and a member of Etna Green United Methodist Church. She always said she was a “farmer” and worked as a legal secretary. In her free times she enjoyed water skiing at Lake of the Woods, she was a thespian and loved dancing. She always wanted to be an actor or professional dancer. Many people thought she was actually a professional dancer.
Friends and family may gather from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 S. Main Street Bourbon, IN 46504). Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Joe Lampton and Kenneth Cooke officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
