Audrey E. Griffis, 83, Burket, passed at 9:25 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Mason Health Care of Warsaw.
Audrey was born on Oct. 2, 1937, in Warsaw, to the late Arnold and Clarabel (Carey) Flory. She married Dec. 10, 1955, in Bourbon, to Bill G. Griffis, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2010.
She was a Tippecanoe High School graduate. Audrey was a quality controller inspector for Blue Bell in Warsaw. She then worked for Uniroyal in Warsaw, where she was the first woman employed. She retired from there after over 20 years. After retiring she worked part-time for the Post Office in Burket. She loved sewing, crafting, and quilting. She enjoyed Goodwill and was a loyal customer.
Audrey is survived by her son Brad and wife Judy Griffis of Akron; grandchildren: Damien Shriver, Jackie Apt, Billi Griffis, and Tanner Griffis; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister Lorraine and husband, Tom DeVros of Tippecanoe; and brothers: Jerry and wife Glenda Flory of Tippecanoe; and Duane and wife Kathy Flory of Tippecanoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, siblings: Anita Crawford, Rose Walters, Lewis Flory, Douglas Flory, Doyle Flory.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 10, in the Summit Chapel Cemetery on SR 10 near Bourbon.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron.
