Opening Day For Dixie Boat Tours June 12
Press Release
NORTH WEBSTER — Opening day for Dixie Boat tours on Webster Lake will be Saturday, June 12.
Renovations need to be completed before the season can officially begin for the sternwheel paddle boat built in 1929 and cruising Webster Lake since then.
Hours for cruises are 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays; 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sundays; and 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
The Dixie Sternwheeler Inc. Board of Directors met Monday, May 17, and evaluated progress on the extensive renovations in the works because of the COVID-19 shutdown.
The board and staff of Dixie Sternwheeler Inc. regret that Dixie will not be running Memorial Day weekend. All work must be completed before the state inspection and some of it has been delayed due to weather and supplies not being readily available.
Check online at www.ridethedixie.com and the Dixie Facebook page for up-to-date information.
Tickets remain at $7 for a one hour and 15-minute tour with narration. The 9 p.m. Saturday cruise is a special Twilight Cruise with live music by Cap’n Bob.
Tickets can be purchased at the south window of Lake View Pizza King Restaurant in North Webster Town Park, 403 S. Dixie Drive, 30 minutes before scheduled departure times.
Free parking is available across the street from the restaurant in the town lot and behind Dixie Haven Resort in the town lot off East Himes Street.
