Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 7:09 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Patricia Reitz-Collins, 81, Catherine Street, Milford; and Billy J. Fairchild, 36, Main Street, Syracuse. Reitz-Collins’ vehicle struck Fairchild’s vehicle and a shed belonging to Penguin Point. Damage up to $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:45 p.m. Thursday, May 20, Lake City Highway Warsaw. Driver: Clifford B. Bentley, 39, Weston Drive, Columbia City. Bentley’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:41 p.m. Thursday, May 20, Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Cory A. Young, 41, Timothy Drive, Goshen. Young’s vehicle struck a light pole and jumped the curb, striking a signal cabinet box. The vehicle then went into the Warsaw Fire Station 2 parking lot and came to a stop. Young had minor bleeding to his head and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
- 3:35 p.m. Thursday, May 20, North Lake Street and Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jaimie N. Albert, 31, North CR 750W, Warsaw; and Bobby L. Burchett, 64, Old Road 30, Warsaw. Albert’s vehicle rear-ended Burchett’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 2:49 p.m. Thursday, May 20, US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin M. Henson, 22, North CR 650E, Warsaw; and Karl D. Utterback, 67, Till Road, Fort Wayne. Henson’s vehicle rear-ended Utterback’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 10:56 a.m. Thursday, May 20, Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Robert L. Hatten, 72, Harrison Street, Mentone. Hatten’s vehicle struck a wall on the west side of a McDonald’s building. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:48 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Darrell E. Honeycutt, 39, CR 1175, Akron; and Murray T. Bartel, 62, Country Club Terrace, Warsaw. Honeycutt entered the left turn lane and was passing by Bartel’s vehicle when Honeycutt’s vehicle struck a boat trailer being towed by Bartel. Damage up to $2,500.
- 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kereen E. Freeman, 23, Union Street, Lafayette; and Regina A. Ramey, 58, Baker Street, Warsaw. Freeman’s vehicle backed into Ramey’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 1:01 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, SR 13 and SR 4, Goshen. Drivers: Rodolfo Silva, 20, Ligonier; and Brigid Chupp, 32, Goshen. Chupp, who is five weeks pregnant, complained of minor stomach pains. Chupp and a 1-year-old male in her vehicle were transported to Goshen Hospital. Silva, who was reported as driving at an unsafe speed, struck the back of the Chupp vehicle that had stopped at the intersection. Silva was cited for unsafe speed resulting in a vehicle crash.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, SR 25, Rochester. Driver: Michelle L. Jordan, 50, Royal Center. Hit deer.
