NorthWood clawed its way back into the Northern Lakes Conference championship conversation with a pair of wins Thursday at Maxwelton.
The Panthers moved to 4-3 in the NLC, and the two losses for the RedHawks moved them into a tie for third with NorthWood in the standings. Northridge is 5-2 and second, all looking up at Warsaw, which finished 7-0 in the round robin.
Earl Williams shot an even-par 36 on the course’s front nine, with Cooper Wiens only two shots back at 38. Jon Cripe finished at 41 and Kyle Cripe at 46 for the top four, Ben Vincent’s 49 the fifth score.
Wawasee (2-5) and Goshen did not immediately report their scores.
Whitko 188, Manchester 197, Tippecanoe Valley 206
Valley had the medalist Thursday night, but Whitko had the better team in a Three Rivers Conference trio.
Greg Miller had the low round of the day, shooting 42 for the Vikings. But everything else green and gold was in the 50s, a 52 from Brandon McBriar, 55 from Mason Purvis and 57s from Grady McGriff and Eli Love.
Whitko used four scores in the 40s to get the win, led by Jon Strayer’s 45 and followed closely by Dale Reiff’s 46, Kylar Bryant’s 48 and Austin Kreps’ 49. Blake Schroeder had a 50 as the fifth score.
