Millicent Horn-Andrews, known to her friends and acquaintances as Millie Andrews, 80, Warsaw, went to be with her Lord at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, in her residence. She was born in Warsaw June 1, 1940, to Owen and Florence (Quine) Horn also of Warsaw.
She was a 40-year career teacher in the Warsaw Community Schools, teaching at Washington Elementary School where she was a student in her childhood. Millie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Warsaw, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, and various professional groups in the area. She and her husband loved to travel, visit with classmates of “58” and “59”, and fellowshipping with their many friends and family members. She loved music and served her Lord at various organ and keyboard assignments in local churches and accompanied the Optimist Singers for several years. Her hobby in addition to the music was making garments as a very accomplished knitter.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, and by her three children: Phillip (Holly) Paxton, Michelle (Don) Melton, and Karen (Arnold) Horan; step-children: Scott Andrews, Brian (Vicky) Andrews, Heather Andrews. She is also survived by her mother, Florence Horn; sister, Nedra Dobbins; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Sunday, May 23, with a gathering from 2-3 p.m. and the service to follow at 3 p.m. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
