CLAYPOOL — Claypool Town Council approved Town Marshal Ben Sanders’ request to use specific law enforcement funds as needed during a meeting on Tuesday, May 18.
Sanders said the Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund (LECEF) is provided by the Indiana State Board of Accounts for criminal arrests and traffic citations. The fund can only be used for law enforcement education, training and equipment.
The council approved Sanders using the LECEF funds as needed for police funds only.
Sanders also said he recently issued 17 ordinance violations in town regarding issues with lawn upkeep, sanitation and abandoned vehicles. All who were in violation have now complied.
In other business, Town employee Danny Warner presented a quote for a new swingset at the town’s jungle gym area. The quote is for $1,000.
“It hasn’t had swings on it in years,” said Council President Benny Stage about the swing set.
Councilmembers said they’d like an additional quote for a swing set before making a decision.
Claypool Town Council’s next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15.
