WARSAW — A teenager suffered minor injuries when a vehicle jumped the curb at Culver’s, striking the concrete table where the teen was seated.
According to the accident report, at 2:08 p.m. Sunday, May 16, first responders were called to Culver’s, located at 852 N. Parker St., Warsaw.
A 2013 silver Buick LaCrosse driven by Marcia A. Kroft, 85, Syracuse, jumped the curb and struck several concrete tables/benches in the outdoor dining area.
Elliot Hill, 14, Winona Lake, had just finished his shift at Culver’s and was seated at one of the concrete tables.
When Kroft’s vehicle struck the table, Hill was pinned between the vehicle and the concrete debris.
Hill had marks on his leg, which were photographed by police, but said he felt fine.
Kroft said she was unsure what happened. A witness told police it appeared that Kroft was attempting to park and that while pulling into the parking lot, she accelerated, hitting the concrete furniture.
Three of the four concrete patio table/benches were destroyed in the accident. Kroft’s vehicle sustained damage to the front, left side skirt and undercarriage. Damage was estimated at up to $25,000.
