Grace Continues To Stack Awards

WINONA LAKE – Grace’s track and field team earned two national honors on the heels of its first national championship. Grace tennis also earned some national dap among its championship run.
Isaac Beatty and Isaac Brown were named the NCCAA National Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The pair were instrumental in helping Grace’s men’s track and field team win the 2021 NCCAA National Championships, the first title in program history.
Beatty was part of two national championship-winning events for Grace. He won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:38.17 (school record), and he also teamed up to win the 4×800 relay in 7:48.58.
Brown was honored as the NCCAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Meet for his performance. He won both the high jump and javelin national titles.
The Lancers’ season will end with the 2021 NAIA National Championships, held in Gulf Shores, Ala., beginning May 26.
Max Rozas was picked as the NCCAA’s Player of the Week on Monday for Grace’s men’s tennis team.
Rozas was Grace’s top player en route to the Lancers claiming the 2021 NCCAA national championships last week. He played at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles as Grace went 4-0 in the tournament to secure the first national championship in program history.
In the national finals, he helped Grace earn two points with a straight-sets win at No. 1 singles and a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles (with Mauricio Corty).
The Lancers’ season continues this week with the NAIA National Championships. Grace will play No. 17 Southeastern on Tuesday in Alabama for the opening round.
