Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:21 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, South SR 13 south of East CR 850S, Pierceton. Drivers: Tanner J. Patrick, 24, East CR 850S, Claypool, and Kathleen S. Hullinger, 57, Alena Street, Wabash. Patrick was traveling eastbound on East CR 850S, Pierceton. Hullinger was traveling northbound on South SR 13 at the intersection of East CR 850S. His vehicle failed to yield the right of way, and their vehicles collided. Hullinger had neck pain and was treated by medics on scene. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 6:53 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, South County Farm Road south of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Destiny I. Syndram, 24, South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Syndram was traveling northbound on County Farm Road south of CR 300S, Warsaw, when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 10:04 p.m. Monday, May 10, East CR 500N west of North SR 13, North Webster. Driver: Carol L. Fletcher, 70, North Westerner Winds Drive, Warsaw. Fletcher was traveling westbound on CR 500N west of SR 13 when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 5:49 p.m. Monday, May 10, South County Farm Road north of East CR 400S, Warsaw. Drivers: Jackie D. Bowman, 50, North Grant Street, Wabash, and Ryan N. Hale, 25, West Pike Street, Warsaw. Bowman was traveling eastbound on West CR 400S approaching the stop sign at the intersection at South County Farm Road, Warsaw. She stopped and then proceeded through the intersection, failing to yield the right of way to Hale’s vehicle, which was traveling southbound on South County Farm Road, causing the vehicles to collide. Bowman complained of neck pain and was transported by medics. Her passenger complained of head pain and was transported by medics. Hale complained of head pain and was transported by medics. Damage: Up to $50,000.
- 3:28 p.m. Monday, May 10, 3762 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Trenton I. Black, 24, Clear Creek Trail, North Manchester. Black was backing out of a driveway when he hit a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $1,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:54 p.m. Saturday, May 8, SR 13 north of Syracuse-Webster Road, North Webster. Drivers: Jada L. Berg, 17, Lubeck Drive, Fishers, and Cary K. Kingrey, 41, West Doe Court, Warsaw. Kingrey was yielding to stop when Berg’s vehicle hit his. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 4:56 p.m. Monday, May 10, East US 30 east of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sheryl L. Jones, 49, East Kyle Road, Pierceton, and Ronald E. Ringle, 67, East CR 250S, Pierceton. Jones was traveling eastbound on East US 30 between the North Parker and East Center street intersections. She was following behind Ringle’s vehicle. She looked down to grab her cellphone. When she looked back up, she saw Ringle’s vehicle stopped and didn’t have time to stop her vehicle. Her vehicle hit his. Jones complained of pain in her chest from the airbag and burning on her arms. She was checked out at the scene by medics. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 8:35 a.m. Monday, May 10, US 30 and East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: David R. Hoagland, 53, South CR 675W, Warsaw, and George H. Gale, 52, South CR 225W, Union Mills. Hoagland was traveling westbound on US 30. He said he was in the left turn lane to turn onto East Center Street, Warsaw. The sun was shining on the traffic signal and it appeared to him that the green arrow was illuminated more than the other colors. He turned left, and Gale’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on US 30, came through the intersection and hit his. A passenger in Gale’s vehicle complained of hand pain, but refused medical treatment. Damage: Up to $50,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 1:49 p.m. Friday, May 7, US 33 east of CR 31. Drivers: Paul Verhoff, 83, Elkhart, Tyler Rensberger, 32, Millersburg, and Maria Hernandez, 54, Ligonier. Verhoff suffered lacerations to the head and chest trauma and was flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Rensberger complained of chest pain. Hernandez complained of chest and lower back pain. Both were taken to Goshen Hospital. Passengers in Hernandez’s vehicle, Alexa Hernandez, 13, Ligonier, complained of chest and lower back pain, and Leigha Gilbert, 13, Kimmel, suffered a bruise on her head. Both were treated at the scene and declined further medical attention. Verhoff drove left of center and collided with the Rensberger vehicle causing it to go off the west side of the road. Verhoff’s vehicle then hit the Hernandez vehicle. Verhoff was cited for driving left of center and Hernandez was cited for operating a motor vehicle while never receiving a license.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 2:22 p.m. Sunday, May 9, West 13th Street, Rochester. Driver: Kadin J. Kelly, 17, Rochester. Kelly’s vehicle went off the road into the woods.
- 12:20 p.m. Sunday, May 9, SR 114, Akron. Driver: Crystal D. Lewis, 35, Akron. Lewis’ vehicle struck a culvert.
- 8:52 p.m. Saturday, May 8, US 31 and CR 550N, Rochester. Driver: Tanner D. Medina, 21, Rochester. Hit deer.
- 10:40 a.m. Saturday, May 8, East Walnut Street and North Mishawaka Street, Akron. Drivers: Brookelynn G. Kamp, 16, Akron, and Benjamin, A. Mikel, 18, Akron. The two vehicles collided.
- 8:47 a.m. Saturday, May 8, SR 14 and CR 700W, Rochester. Driver: Travis R. Bailey, 40, Winamac. Hit deer.
