William R. “Billy” Hedger, 65, Winamac, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.

He was born on Sept. 28, 1955, in Winamac to the late Donald Little and Mary Marie [Darby] Hedger. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1975 and enjoyed being part of the Boy Scouts. On June 11, 1976, he married the love of his life, Kathie Short. He retired from Galbreath in 2010.

He was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and tinkering around in the garage. He loved his family very much, especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife: Katie (Short) Hedger, Winamac; daughter: Bridgette (Jonathan) Wyman, Winamac; son: Donald Hedger, Winamac; grandchildren: Aaron Hoover, Kathryn Wyma, and Payton Wyma, all of Winamac; DJ Hedger, California; Haley Hedger, Texas; and Savannah Hedger, Knox; two great-grandchildren: Scarlett and Alex; brother: Jerry W. (Nita) Hedger, Winamac; sister: Marsha L. Glassburn, Plymouth; brother-in-law: Phillip Mangus, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Louise E. Mangus and Deborah A. Hedger; and a brother: Thomas E. Hedger.

No services will be held.
