WALKERTON — Marshall County K-9 Officer Diesel, along with his partner, discovered over one pound of marijuana and 7.7 grams of methamphetamine following a one-vehicle crash Monday, May 3.
The crash was in the area of Plymouth-LaPorte Trail, east of West County Line Road, near Walkerton.
Andrew Philip Mitchell, 41, Plymouth, was arrested and booked in the Marshall County jail on charges of possession of marijuana, a level 6 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony.
The sheriff’s department received the call at 10:50 p.m. During the investigation, it was determined that a newer model Chevrolet Malibu had left the roadway and struck a tree. Mitchell, the driver of the vehicle, was not injured.
The marijuana and methamphetamine along with other items, including cash, were found in close proximity to the vehicle.
Marshall County Officers were assisted by the Walkerton Police Department, Walkerton EMS and Polk Township Fire Department.
