Wawasee 3, Mishawaka 2
Wawasee earned its first Northern Lakes Conference win of the season Tuesday with a 3-2 win at Mishawaka.
The Lady Warriors sewed up the team win with court takes in both doubles columns as well as one singles.
Kiah Farrington wasted little time knocking out Kylie Creech love and love in the singles triumph. Tate Cowan and Abby Firestone were almost as efficient at No. 1 doubles, winning one and love. Two dubs went two and two, with Kenley Stewart and Allison Clark getting it done against Carmen Ramirez and Grace Seleskey.
The other two courts needed well over three hours to complete. Tasia Greznia ousted Casey Yankosky 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 and Olivia Fielding did the same to Kaitlynn Jackson 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Wawasee went 5-1 in JV courts.
NorthWood 5, Warsaw 0
The Panthers earned a key win in the NLC with a sweep of Warsaw in Nappanee.
All five courts went in straights, the two dubs team of Paige Henschen and Kate Stillson putting the stamp on a love and one win over Anna Brehany and Kennedy Wildeman, the same score Gabriella Umbower had on Paige Zawadzki at one singles.
Emery Porter and Amy Adams continued their run with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Marie Frazzetta and Peri Britton at one doubles. Britton Jesse and Ashlyn Feller continued the NorthWood mojo with wins over Regan Brouwer (two and four) and Megan Mishler (three and three), respectively.
NorthWood went 9-1 in JV courts.
