Jerry Lee Shultz
Jerry Lee Shultz, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, in Columbia City. Born March 6, 1941, in Pierceton, Jerry was the son of William Edward and Gladys Aleah (Steiner) Shultz. He was united in marriage to Nancy Jo Cochran on March 24, 1962, in Claypool.
He attended school in Pierceton. He was employed as a truck driver for Warsaw Chemical Co. and Starlite Corporation. At Starlite he was known as “Pops” to everyone. His CB handle was “Speedy”. During his life, Jerry loved to swim, dance, fish, and hunt. He especially enjoyed working on cars with his son Tim, and attending car shows and tractor pulls.
Jerry is survived by wife of 59 years, Nancy Jo Shultz of Warsaw; children, Tony (Rosa) Shultz of South Whitley; Paula Lude of Columbia City; Penny (Larry) Angiano of Sidney; daughter-in-law, Martha Shultz. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons: Dennis Shultz and Tim Shultz.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, May 6, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at noon with his granddaughter Jenna Shenefield officiating the service. A private interment will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton at a later date.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are suggested, and social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
