Margaret ‘Midge’ A. Marshall
Margaret “Midge” A. Marshall, 86, Cromwell, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Lutheran Life Villages.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1934, the daughter of George A. and Effa (Owen) Kimmel. She married Robert L. Marshall on Nov. 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2003.
She is survived by two children, Michael A. (Linda) Marshall, Ligonier, and Teresa L. Frisch, Troy, Ohio; five grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas (Laura) Frisch, Drs. Christopher (Mariel) Frisch, Daniel (Amber) Sprague, Rachel (David) Plummer and Katie (Dustin) Peters; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Virginia Marshall, Ligonier; and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
Midge was a devoted mother and grandmother and had worked for Essex Wire and Dana Corp. She was a lifelong learner and a strong supporter of schools, libraries and children. Always an avid reader, her nephew Joey dubbed her “The Readin’ Girl.”
In the tradition of her family of farmers and truck farmers, she was an enthusiastic gardener and an expert in preserving nature’s bountiful harvests. She also enjoyed genealogy, spending time with her family and keeping up with their activities.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Pastor Sarah Tuttle will officiate. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at Yeager Funeral Home. There will also be an hour of visitation from noon-1 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
